Israeli Municipalities — Arnona (Reduced Municipal Tax) for Olim

All cities and towns in Israel charge Arnona (property tax). In most cases, tenants are obligated to make these payments (unless otherwise negotiated with the landlord). Arnona is calculated based on the size of your residence.

How to Transfer the Arnona Bill to Your Name

When moving into a new home, transfer the Arnona bill to your name to:

  1. Receive the Arnona discount (if eligible)
  2. Avoid paying any previous tenant’s debts

Visit your municipality’s website or go to the office in person with the following documents:

  1. Rental contract or proof of ownership
  2. Most recent Arnona bill (to identify your property)
  3. Teudat Zehut (Israeli ID card)
  4. Teudat Oleh or Teudat Zakaut
  5. Bank account information
