66 Integration of Scientists
New immigrants and returning residents who are scientists, academics, or research engineers who are engaged in research and development, and who meet the criteria for recognition as a “scientist” of the Center for Integration in Science may be eligible for assistance from the Center. The Center offers scientists assistance in the following areas: • The field of technology and exact sciences. • The field of social science and fine arts. • The field of natural science and medicine. The Center aids in employment by partially covering salaries and works to promote integration in research and development in the academic and industrial sectors. 67 Scholarships for Eligible Research Students The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, through the Center for Integration in Science, awards scholarships to eligible research students (Ph.D.). Scholarships are for new immigrants up to age 37 who are accepted as research students at a recognized Israeli university.
