Health Insurance and Health Fund Registration for New Immigrants

Eligibility

As a new immigrant, you are eligible for national health insurance from the date of receipt of new-immigrant status (te’udat oleh).

How to Register

You must register with one of the four health funds (Kupot Holim) of your choice. Registration options:

  1. At Ben Gurion Airport – An absorption counselor can register you at no cost upon arrival. It is recommended to decide which health fund you wish to join before your aliyah.

  2. At a Postal Bank branch – Available at branches throughout the country, for a symbolic fee, and in the presence of both spouses (if applicable).

  3. Online via the National Insurance Institute website – Available 3 weeks after receipt of new-immigrant status, free of charge.

  4. At a National Insurance Institute branch office – Required if the 90-day registration window has passed.

Important Deadline

You must register within 90 days of your date of aliyah. After this period, registration must be done in person at a branch office of the National Insurance Institute.
