A tax credit (זיכוי) is a direct reduction in calculated tax liability. Credits are expressed as credit points (נקודות זיכוי).
- Each credit point is worth approximately 235 NIS/month.
Basic Credit Points for All Residents
- Male resident: 2¼ credit points
- Female resident: 3¼ credit points
Child Tax Credits
Parents receive between 1 to 2.5 credit points per child aged 0–18. Amounts vary between mother and father.
Oleh Chadash (New Immigrant) Tax Credits
Olim who made Aliyah BEFORE January 1, 2022 (date not inclusive)
Income tax credit over 3.5 years:
- First 18 months after Aliyah: 3 credit points
- Next 12 months: 2 credit points
- Next 12 months: 1 credit point
- Total: 3.5 years of credits
Olim who made Aliyah ON OR AFTER January 1, 2022 (date inclusive)
Income tax credit over 4.5 years:
- First 12 months after Aliyah: 1 credit point
- Next 18 months: 3 credit points
- Next 12 months: 2 credit points
- Next 12 months: 1 credit point
- Total: 4.5 years of credits
Other Credit Points Available
Additional credit points are available for:
- Post-graduation
- Single mothers
- Disabled child
- Single parents
- Released soldiers
Charitable Contribution Tax Credits (תרומות)
- 35% tax credit on donations to a recognized Israeli Amuta (non-profit authorized under Section 46).
- Minimum total contributions: 207 NIS (2025/2026).
- Maximum deductible contribution: the lesser of 30% of taxable income or 10,354,816 NIS.
