The Jewish Agency, together with the Government of Israel, assists new Olim from the moment they decide to make Aliyah, through the preparation journey, and through their absorption and full integration into life in Israel. The Agency operates in dozens of countries abroad and maintains dozens of absorption centers in Israel, offering support in employment, academia, Hebrew studies (Ulpan), and housing.

The 7-Step Aliyah Journey

Step 1: Initial Aliyah Questionnaire

Begin with an online questionnaire to help the Jewish Agency understand your status and tailor the best support for your Aliyah.

Step 2: Consultation with an Aliyah Account Manager

Within two business days of submission, a personal account manager will contact you to review your details and guide you through the next steps. You may also contact the Global Aliyah Center at any time.

Step 3: Online Aliyah File

Your Aliyah Account Manager will open your online Aliyah file through the Aliyah Journey Portal. Through this portal you can:

• Complete required questionnaires
• Upload necessary documents
• Monitor the status of your application at any time

• Birth certificates
• Passport copies
• Marital status certificates
• Police clearance certificates (criminal background check)
• Proof of connection to Judaism

Step 4: The Aliyah Interview

A personal interview is conducted to align expectations and provide expert guidance. Original documents must be presented at this stage.

Step 5: Eligibility Approval

Your file is reviewed by the eligibility department. Additional documentation and information may be requested. Once confirmed, you will receive a formal approval letter via email.

Step 6: Finalizing Your Move

Manage final arrangements, including:

How long does the process take?

The process usually takes between 3 to 6 months, depending largely on your ability to supply all requested documents and whether additional documents or information are required.

Should I make Aliyah from abroad or from within Israel?

This is a personal decision. In either case, the same documentation is required and you are entitled to the same benefits.

• From abroad: Apply through the Jewish Agency.
• From within Israel: Apply directly through the Population and Immigration Authority. In some cases, the Jewish Agency can assist in the process of Aliyah from within Israel.
