Type of Assistance: Financial Assistance for Initial Absorption

Type of Assistance: Ulpan for Hebrew Study and/or Vouchers for Privately Operated Hebrew Study Courses

Form of Assistance: Tuition Subsidy
Period of Eligibility: According to the most recent temporary order, ten years from the date of aliyah
Duration of Assistance: Five months
Special Instructions: New immigrants who are studying in a Hebrew ulpan and are not receiving the absorption basket may be entitled to assured income payments.
Form of Assistance: Transportation Expenses
Period of Eligibility: According to the most recent temporary order, ten years from the date of aliyah
Duration of Assistance: Five months
Special Instructions: Same as above.

Type of Assistance: Additional Financial Aid

Form of Assistance: Assured Income
Period of Eligibility: After the absorption basket payments have ended, during the first year from making aliyah
Duration of Assistance: From the time the absorption basket payments have ended, until the end of the first year from making aliyah
Special Instructions: People who may be eligible: • New immigrants studying in a Hebrew ulpan • New immigrants seeking employment (who are not employed) • New immigrants studying in vocational courses recognized by the Ministry • Employed new immigrants who earn less than a certain income
