Population and Immigration Authority — Naturalization application for permanent residents married to Israeli citizens

Permanent residents who are married to Israeli citizens can apply to be naturalized (receive Israeli citizenship). You must be physically in Israel to apply.
Who Can Apply
- You must be a permanent resident with a valid permanent residence permit.
- You must be married to an Israeli citizen.
- You and your spouse must share a household.
- You must have settled in Israel.
- You must be in Israel at the time of application.
Required Documents
- Your ID.
- Your foreign passport or Israeli travel document.
- Evidence of Center of Life in Israel, such as:
- A home purchase contract or rental contract, signed by both tenant and landlord.
- Bank account printouts related to the residential apartment (or photocopies of cleared checks and bank statements if rent is paid directly to the landlord).
- Confirmation of membership in Kupat Holim (health fund), including the date of registration.
- Confirmation from the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) of receipt of benefits, including the first date and bank account printouts showing receipt.
- Pay slips (of applicant and/or spouse) or approvals regarding place of work, including commencement date.
- Confirmation from the local council of residence in the area, including the start date — signed by the head of the council.
- If you have children:
- Certificates from school or other educational institution.
- Your children’s vaccination booklets.
- Any other relevant evidence proving your center of life is in Israel.
Additional documents may be requested if necessary.

- 195 NIS
- Payable at the authority office by cash, credit card, or cheque.
