115 Please note: you must pay health insurance payments also during the waiting period. Alternately, returning residents can eliminate the waiting period by making a special payment to the National Insurance Institute. It is possible to make the payment while abroad, six months before returning to Israel, thus enabling one to be eligible for health services upon arrival in Israel (on condition that one was recognized as a citizen by the National Insurance Institute). For additional information go to the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration website: Hebrew: https://www.gov.il/he/departments/guides/returning_residents_ about_health English: https://www.gov.il/en/departments/guides/returning_residents_ about_health Also on the NII website: www.btl.gov.il The “Israel Houses” Project The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, through Israeli embassies and consulates, operates 15 “Israel houses” around the world. The Israel Houses are a unique project for staying in touch with Israelis who live outside of Israel. The house provides a meeting place for Israelis staying abroad; its main goal is to provide counseling and guidance for people who are interested in returning to Israel and supply personal accompaniment and consultation in planning the return to Israel. At an “Israel House” it is possible to receive information about the rights of returning residents, as well as assistance in completing the application form.
