The Absorption Basket (Sal Klita) is a financial assistance program from the Israeli government designed to help new immigrants settle during their first months after arrival.

How Payments Are Made:
- First payment: Transferred to a bank card issued at Ben Gurion Airport upon arrival.
- Application: The oleh fills out a questionnaire and submits an application to the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
- Monthly payments: Subsequent transfers are made as 6 monthly payments to a bank account.
Benefits are paid during the first year after receiving oleh status. Renewal is possible if the oleh returns to Israel within the first year after making aliyah.
Who Is Eligible for Sal Klita:
- Those arriving in Israel for the first time on an Aliyah (immigrant) visa.
- Israelis born abroad who meet all the listed criteria (Ezrachim Olim).
- Minor children who were taken abroad by their parents during childhood or adolescence.
Key Benefits and Concessions for New Olim:
- Exemption from health insurance contributions: New olim are exempt from paying health insurance contributions during the first 6 months of stay in Israel.
- Housing benefits: New olim receive benefits for renting and purchasing housing.
- Tax benefits: Exemption from taxes on income from abroad for the first 10 years.
Pension and Social Security Payments (Bituach Leumi):
- Old-age pension is paid by the National Insurance Institute of Israel (Bituach Leumi).
- Private pension funds also exist, into which both employees and employers are required to make contributions.
Important Actions After Arrival:
- Open a bank account (for receiving benefit transfers).
- Register at the local branch of the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration near your place of residence.
- Make an appointment at the Ministry office to submit documents for the second part of the Absorption Basket.
