Overview

A person recognized by the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) as a work-injured person, whose claim for an injury allowance was granted, and who remained with a disability due to the work injury, may be entitled to a work disability benefit — either a monthly pension or a one-time grant.

Who Is Eligible?

• A person previously recognized as work-injured by Bituach Leumi.
• Whose injury allowance claim was approved.
• Who has a remaining disability as a result of the work injury.
• Note: An insured person who resumed working, or did not leave their job, can also submit a claim for work disability benefit.

How Is the Benefit Determined?

• The insured must appear before a medical board.
• The medical board determines the degree of disability.
• Based on this degree, the insured receives either:
  • A monthly pension, or
  • A one-time grant
• The type and amount of benefit are determined according to the rules of the National Insurance Law.

What Should You Do?

1. Ensure your original work injury claim and injury allowance were approved by Bituach Leumi.
2. Submit a claim for work disability benefit through the National Insurance Institute.
3. Attend the medical board examination as scheduled.
4. Receive the determination of your disability degree and corresponding benefit.
